CLASSIFICATION
AND QUALIFICATION STANDARDS CLINICIAN Definition: Under the direction of the Center Director or a Consultant,
utilizing the Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing® Program (LiPS®) and the Bell
Visualizing/Verbalizing® (V/V®) Program, provides remediation for students with auditory
processing and/or concept imagery issues. Utilizing the Processing and Cognitive
Enhancement Program (PACE) provides instruction and exercises to improve cognitive
functioning.
This is an entry level classification for Colorado Reading
Center. Persons in this classification are
the backbone of the operations and are the individuals who meet one-on-one with the
clients in the educational process, and are under the direct supervision of a Center
Director or Consultant. 1. Utilizing the
LiPS Program and the Socratic teaching method, instruct the client--in a one-on-one
setting--in the basics of phonological processing for reading and spelling. 2. Utilizing the VV
Program and the Socratic teaching method, instruct the client--in a one-on-one setting--in
the basics of concept imagery for language comprehension. 3. Utilizing the
Processing and Cognitive Enhancement Program (PACE) and following highly structured
procedures, instruct the client--in a one-on-one setting--to improve cognitive
functioning. 4. Follow
educational plans, both verbal and written, provided by the Center Director and/or the
Consultant, in the daily instruction of the client. 5. Meet with the
Center Director and/or the Consultant and provide information on the current status of the
client and responses to the educational plan. 6. Seek out the
Center Director or the Consultant, as needed, for Additional direction and instruction
when the instructional plan is not progressing as expected. 7. Write notes daily
in the clients workbook to document the procedures used and the response of the
client. The notes should be sufficient to
document the instruction process and clients progress. 8. Maintain daily,
current and accurate time sheets on clients and clinicians hours. 9. Maintain a neat
and clean work environment. Follow all rules
related to safety, sexual harassment, and instructional processes. 10. Dress in a fashion that reflects positively on Colorado
Reading Center and provides a professional, well-groomed and non-offensive environment. 11. Perform other duties as requested which may include, but not
be restricted to; filing; participating in client conferences; and minor bookkeeping and
housekeeping duties. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to
perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The

with children preferred. Experience with
teaching, tutoring, education or writing is of benefit.
Successful completion of the Lindamood® LiPS and the Nancibell®
V/V Workshops and/or the PACE training seminar preferred. Excellent working knowledge of English is required. Must be able to read, write, spell, and speak
English well. The individual will be required
to pass the Lindamood® Auditory Conceptualization Test.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must be able to relate well with people,
understand and be able to apply the Socratic teaching method, be able to maintain written,
client progress notes, and be able to work well in a team oriented approach to teaching. A broad base of knowledge is beneficial. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those
that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this

Lifting Must be able to lift 10 pounds over the employees head. B.
Repetitive Motions Must be able to remain seated and often lean over a desk, to
provide instruction, for up to eight hours per day. Must
be able to repeatedly use the hand and wrist to write and the mouth and tongue for
demonstration. Will often be speaking during
the course of the day. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are
representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of

heated to a comfortable temperature year round. Not
all areas of the office are wheel chair accessible. Some
shelves would require assistance to reach from a wheel chair. Floors are carpeted. The building is a non-smoking facility. Ample lighting is provided in all areas of the
