Learning Problems
Learning problems have a wide range of causes including phonemic
awareness, orthographic coding, weak concept imagery, memory problems and/or processing
speed and attention. Any combination of these can contribute to overall learning problems
and the result is a student who exhibits behaviors such as performing below expectations,
can't stay on task, distracts easily and won't follow instructions.
The Processing and Cognitive Enhancement - PACE Program
directly addresses the underlying cognitive processes that affect learning. Rather than
teaching content, we focus on training the processes that will improve the individual's
ability to learn and to use the information. By focusing on the individual's deficient
skills, we implement a program designed to produce the maximum results in the shortest
time. This program is not a life long commitment. It is designed to retrain the person's
brain to compensate for the problem.
